Our aim at The Plantation Swim School (TPSS) is to conduct swimming classes that embrace the concepts of swimming and survival skills, whilst learning through play and to provide the community with a quality program with measured outcomes.
TPSS’s program follows Royal Life Saving guidelines, and is structured to be ability-based, whilst also taking into consideration your child’s physical and emotional development. Classes are available for babies, children, adults, mini-squads, those with special needs, and people from diverse cultures.
Learn to Swim classes are taught year round, in our purpose-built, 11 metre, indoor heated pool, which combined with our small class size, provides the perfect environment for the optimal learning and development of your child.
Mini-squads are run in our 25 metre outdoor pool throughout the Summer season (September through to April).
All our Instructors are:
- Industry qualified,
- Trained in Rescue and Resuscitation (CPR), and
- Hold a current Blue Card (child Safety).
We undertake regular in house professional development to ensure quality and consistency in teaching methods and to continually develop our own skills and knowledge.
Swimming Terms are based on current Queensland State School Terms, usually equating to a 10 week term. Lessons do not occur on Public Holidays.
Holiday Intensive classes occur at various times throughout the year – information on these classes are announced prior to each holiday period.
During the Summer season, at the end of your lesson, we would love for you to continue to enjoy our facilities at ‘The Plantation’, by going out to the outdoor pools for a swim, play or picnic (one free parent for each enrolled child).
School Physical Education classes are also catered for at TPSS. Classes can be arranged to be taken in the outdoor pool through Summer, or even the indoor pool through Winter.
